HO-Scale Model Train Layout
The HO-Scale model train layout was first developed and constructed in 1984. The two western mining towns are based upon Deadwood and Lead, South Dakota. The mountains were constructed using wood framing, wire mesh, and plaster. The
mountain top also featured a Mount Moriah Cemetery. Two separate trains could operate traveling around the layout. The layout also incorporated a smaller HOe-Scale mining
train. In 2007, the entire model layout was demolished and scraped in order to accommodate additional displays. However, all the structures, buildings, trees, and model trains were all preserved and archived.
